Introduction

Alison is an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. Alison completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Cape Town and went on to study her Masters in Hand Therapy through the University of Derby in the UK. As a Neurodevelopmental Therapist, she also has experience in treating adults with neurological conditions. Alison has a special interest in treating hand injuries/conditions, neurological conditions and early childhood intervention.

Alison has also completed WorkWell training, Psychiatric Assessment training and Driver Fitness training and can perform comprehensive and detailed Functional Capacity Evaluations for disability or incapacity claims.

  • Therapy/Splinting for hand injuries and conditions: hand fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendon and ligament injuries.
  • Disability assessments and fitness to drive assessments.
  • Neurorehabilitation: adult/paediatric strokes, head injuries and spinal cord injuries.
  • Paediatric intervention: developmental delays, learning difficulties, comprehensive paediatric assessments and paediatric screening assessments.
